FOLLOW YOUR OWN THREAD
A single space. Many ways to make it yours.
Collect a useful source, explore another perspective, then discuss the parts that matter with your Companion.
AI conversations need a connected provider. You choose what the Companion can access.
YOUR SPACE. YOUR PACE.
Keep using the sources you love. Bring in a link or a supported collection, and grow from there.
Your account starts private. You choose what to share, what the Companion can see and which effects to use.
Collect and organize on your own. Connect your provider when you want AI help, with its costs kept in view.
BEFORE YOU MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME
Videos, music, books, text and images. Save links, write your own notes, import supported collections or connect supported playlists. Original content stays with its source.
Create your account, save one useful source and add a thought. You can build your collection gradually. The browser extension and AI features are optional; you do not need to configure everything first.
Collecting, organizing and writing your own notes do not require AI. AI features use a connected provider and your API key, with provider usage charged separately. SHIFT also has a small starter test allowance; it is not unlimited AI access.
Your account starts private. You control visibility, sharing and which content the Companion may access. SHIFT is not a promise of end-to-end encryption for all content; Trust & rights explains the current boundaries. Read Trust & rights
The optional desktop browser extension lets you capture links, comment and dictate while browsing. It also provides YouTube Focus, Immersive View and appearance controls. Optional page access stays under your control.
Yes. You can adjust motion, sound, glass and appearance in Settings. Essentials and Advanced only change how many settings you see; switching between them does not change your preferences.
THE REST STARTS WITH YOU

This is the reference I would use for our next sketch. What do you think?
I tried it too. Keeping one goal made it much clearer.
